Monomyth
Monomyth Review
A classic RPG-inspired first-person dungeon crawler, Monomyth takes players into a vast, interconnected underworld beneath Lysandria’s ancient fortress. Ariath residents flee to underground mysteries and dangers as civilization collapses. Defying King Ferodin the Third, players search for a lost brother and a divine gift that could save their world.
Monomyth is a vast world with secret chambers, passageways, and diverse areas for exploration. Players interact with residents using a detailed dialogue system, combine items, trade, pick locks, break doors, and bake bread. Swords, spells, dodges, parries, and blocks provide a powerful arsenal for defeating monstrosities. By investing in six attributes and thirteen skills, players can create unique characters like nimble assassins or fearsome battlemages.
Monomyth’s atmosphere, ambition, and gameplay variety have improved despite minor technical issues like controller support and graphical glitches. The game encourages creative gameplay, such as smashing or burning barricades. For dungeon crawler and FromSoftware fans, Monomyth is captivating and immersive, but enemy variety could be improved.
